Nepal enjoys one of the most diverse climates in the world, and 75% of its land is made up of mountains. The country experiences four main seasons: spring (March to May), summer (June to August), autumn (September to November) and winter (December to February).
Average temperatures can vary significantly per region and throughout the year. Winter conditions can range from -10°C to 12°C. Meanwhile, summer temperatures can range from 15°C to 32°C.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit on our Nepal tours comes down to preference. Autumn and spring are the most popular times of year for treks and mountain climbing, thanks to the warm and dry temperatures. This is also a fantastic time of year to spot Nepal’s wildlife at the national parks.

Customs & Culture
Nepal is a relaxed and welcoming country, home to a diverse variety of local cultures and traditions. Some cultural customs include taking shoes off at temples, dressing modestly at religious sites, avoiding public displays of affection and using your right hand where possible for eating and accepting gifts.

Passports & Visas
Entry requirements and visa regulations are different for every destination and your purpose of travel. We recommend staying updated on the latest official information before you go travelling. Your passport should be undamaged and have enough blank pages for stamps and visas. Many countries require your passport to have at least 6 months of validity beyond the date of entry.

Everest Base Camp is a challenging yet achievable trek, requiring a good level of preparation and physical fitness. Most importantly, ensure that you have the right gear, stay hydrated and do your research beforehand. All trekkers must be accompanied by a professional guide, which is included in group tours for Everest Base Camp, alongside other unbeatable perks.
Nepali and Maithili are the most widely spoken languages in Nepal. Some English is also spoken at popular tourist destinations.
We recommend bringing both cash and card. Nepalese Rupee is a closed currency, which means that it can only be obtained within the country. We encourage you to bring US dollars or Pound sterling notes for your trip to exchange when you arrive. On our Nepal tours, your group leader will inform you of where you can find the nearest ATMs.
Appropriate trekking gear and clothing are essential. Sunscreen and lip balm are recommended to protect your skin from the harsh altitudes. A reusable filtered water bottle, water purifying tablets, first-aid kit, biodegradable soap, travel towel and portable charger are also good-to-haves. If you are confirmed on one of our Nepal tours, you will receive pre-departure information, including a packing list, before your trip starts.
Layered clothing is strongly recommended for the high altitudes and cool temperatures, including a sweat-wicking base layer. Proper footwear is key (e.g. sturdy hiking boots and hiking socks). You will also need a raincoat and sunglasses for trekking days.
